Warm Modern Meets Coastal Light: Inside This Rumson Kitchen Redesign
This Rumson, NJ remodel is proof that high-end kitchens don’t have to choose between warm texture and clean lines. Designed by Andrea Garone and built by the team at Design Line Kitchens in Sea Girt, this kitchen blends natural walnut with crisp white cabinetry for a look that’s both welcoming and refined.
A Study in Contrast
The kitchen embraces the 2025 trend of warm modern — combining clean white shaker-style cabinetry with rich walnut accents. The walnut island base, drawer fronts, and open shelving bring organic warmth and balance to the bright white perimeter cabinets. Brushed brass hardware and waterfall-edge marble countertops add a sophisticated finishing touch.
Custom, Not Cookie-Cutter
Floating walnut shelves create both display space and depth. Styled with art, ceramics, and greenery, these elements bring personal charm to the space. All cabinetry and millwork were crafted locally in Design Line’s Sea Girt workshop — a hallmark of every DLK project.
Perfect for Entertaining
An expansive island comfortably seats six, while the integrated gas cooktop allows the chef to remain part of the conversation. A wall of windows floods the space with natural light and offers a view of the backyard garden, blending indoor luxury with outdoor calm.
Details That Elevate
- Sub-Zero refrigeration and a professional-grade range
- Custom hood wrapped in walnut to echo the island and shelving
- Statement lighting in brass and white finishes
- Double-stacked cabinetry with integrated storage
Designed for Life at the Shore
While visually stunning, this kitchen is also practical — with deep drawers, wide walkways, and a thoughtful flow from cooking to living space. It’s the kind of layout that works beautifully for both everyday living and weekend entertaining.
